Strategy & Execution
The Challenge ArquiAzuay needed a platform to connect property buyers and sellers. Real estate sites can easily become slow and cluttered due to the massive amount of images and data. My goal was to build a portal from the ground up that looked modern, felt intuitive, and loaded instantly.
How I Built It:
- Design & UI/UX: I started by designing a clean, user-centric interface in Figma. Since real estate is all about visuals, I focused on making the property galleries pop and keeping the navigation simple so users could actually enjoy browsing.
- Custom WordPress Backend: No heavy, pre-packaged themes here. I custom-coded the entire WordPress backend using PHP and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). This allowed me to create a tailored, easy-to-use dashboard for the client to manage property details like prices, locations, and agent info.
- Seamless Search: I integrated an AJAX-based filtering system. This means users can sort through dozens of properties by price or location, and the results update instantly without the page having to reload.
- Performance & Core Web Vitals: A pretty site is useless if it takes 10 seconds to load. I kept the codebase lean, optimized the server configurations (Apache/DNS), and set up strict image compression. The result is a fast, responsive site that scores high on Google’s Core Web Vitals.
